Since 1895, we have proudly served our customers with high-quality alloys. CMP began as the Consolidated Car Heating Company, founded by George Westinghouse. He merged the Car Heating Company of Pittsburgh with a business in Albany, NY, where he built a new facility to house the combined operations. Among the original stockholders was James Roosevelt, father of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Over time, the company focused on specialty alloys and founded the first partial denture alloy, Ticonium. CMP later pioneered the development of Cobalt-Chrome alloys. Reflecting this evolution, the company changed its name to Consolidated Metal Products—marking a new chapter while continuing our long-standing mission.
